Joseph Lavender
Albuquerque, New Mexico
Don't let the amount of detail fool you, this ship is just 4 inches long! Joseph entirely scratchbuilt the IJN Kongo from wood, turned aluminum, and photo-etched metal totalling more that 2,500 parts. He painted with Scale Colours acrylics and weathered with light washes. Joseph also built the base from spalted tamarind and Patagonian rosewood and made the case from glass and soldered copper.
