David changed the White Ensign Models 1/350 scale HMS Abdiel fast minelayer to backdate it to an earlier fit than the kit and replaced or scratchbuilt almost all the details. He painted with Sovereign Hobbies Colour Coats enamels with a Paasche airbrush. He masked the plating on the hull and funnel and built up the layers with Tamiya primer. David made the water with Celluclay, airbrushed the colors, and then coated it with Pledge Floor Gloss.
