Ruane Crummett built the AMT 1/43 scale 1969 Ford Mustang. For the car’s bright finish, he painted it Daytona yellow, added Bare-Metal Foil, and topped it with Testors Wet-Look gloss clear.
Guilherme Rosa’s bright red Tamiya 1/12 scale Ducati Desmosedici wears a few aftermarket details that are mostly hidden under the body panels. But that doesn’t take away from the two-wheeler’s scorching hot looks.
Tim Rhine came racing in with many models, including his Revell 1/25 scale ’69 Yenko Chevy Nova. He added resin tires, custom plates, a window sticker, C1 Models conversion bumpers, and wired and plumbed the engine. He finished the car with Splash Paints Blu Aegir.
Dave Perkins built his Provence Moulage 1/43 scale Audi R8 out-of-the-box. He completed the car with the kit’s photo-etched metal parts and MCW Gulf Blue paint.
This Testors Silver and Black Monogram 1/25 scale ’30 Packard came from Dana Benoit, who built it box-stock.
Edmund Arrajj painted his Lindberg 1/25 scale 1967 Olds 442 W-30 with Model Master Pure Gold. He built the model out-of-the-box, adding Bare-Metal Foil on the window trim.
This scratchbuilt 1/25 scale 969A wrecker rode in with Charles Rowley. He made the frame, hood, cab sides, and wrecker booms from brass and added turned aluminum acetylene and oxygen tanks. Charles cast the tires and wheels from resin and modeled the wrecker cable from metallic embroidery thread.
Linda Follansbee didn’t say much about her Revell 1/25 scale Ford Raptor other than that she painted it Tamiya Pure Metallic Red. We think it’s a nice-looking truck!
Paul Poradis built the Revell 1/25 scale 1969 Chevrolet Z/28 Camaro RS out of the box. He added Bare-Metal Foil to the trim and painted the body with a Dupli-Color Silver base coat under a Dupli-Color Red Metalcast finish.
To match the theme, Jason Hanscom built the Revell 1/25 scale 1969 Yenko Chevy Nova. He added an Iceman Collections resin 572 fuel-injected engine, a VCG Resins steering wheel, Spyder wheels, and Mickey Thompson Indy Profile tires. Additional parts include a Competition Resins cowl hood, resin shifter, and photo-etched metal speaker grilles. Jason finished the model using Testors Extreme Lacquer Lime Ice Metallic.
The Tamiya Orange finish screams on Jack Brady’s 1/25 scale scratchbuilt 1951 Crosley B/Altered. He scratch-bashed the body using Evergreen styrene, AMT ’51 Chevy front fenders, Revell ’53 Chevy hood, and Revell Henry J windshield frame; the chassis, front axle, and steering components also came from the Henry J kit. Jack scratchbuilt the engine, which includes an injection-magneto fuel pump and headers. He also added a master cylinder and brake handles.
John Ellis built a Revell 1/25 scale 1964 Pontiac GTO box-stock as his first competition build. He painted it Testors Metallic Gold and finished the car with a clear coat.
This small vehicle is Craig Betts’s Masterbox 1/35 scale BMW R-75 motorcycle. He ran spark-plug wires, brake lines, electric wire for the headlamp, and fuel lines. Craig finished the model with German gray paint.
Marcos Fernandez Nanita’s Flashpoint Resin 1/25 scale Nightmare dragster sports a fully scratchbuilt chassis and rollbar, Gibson 426 Hemi engine, Flashpoint Resin PSI blower, and a detailed interior. The finish is Tamiya Bright Orange and White under a pearl clear coat.
This neon green AMT 1/25 scale Snapfast Slammers Street Fury from Bentley Davison is a nice-looking Plymouth adorned with Pine Car Derby decals.
Ron Weissinger dressed up his Lindberg 1/25 scale ’34 Ford pickup with Tamiya paint. He scratchbuilt vegetable crates, filled them with model-railroad vegetables, and loaded up the back for a run to the local farmer’s market.
Jodi Doyle painted an AMT 1/24 scale George Barris Surf Woody roadster with a silver base and a pearl pink fade.
To replicate Jim Boudreau’s Super Stock 1969 Camaro B/SA “Gold Digger,” Doug Estabrook started with a Revell 1/25 scale 1969 Camaro. He used a bright orange paint from MCW for the finish.
Rich Mazzarella converted an MPC 1/25 scale 1982 Dodge Turtlewax van to make this NBC TV equipment van. He scratchbuilt all of the equipment and cut the doors and hood so they open.
Skip Smart built a Revell 1/25 scale ’72 Olds Indy Pace Car mostly out-of-the-box. He added the car’s four-speed shifter and swapped the taillights with those from a Revell ’71 Olds 442 W-30 taillights to backdate the model. Skip painted his 442 with Tamiya Mica Red Metallic.
